NCDC Revives NCD Council Of Women After 14 Years

NCDC, through its Family, Gender Equality & Women's Empowerment branch, marked a milestone with the successful hosting of the NCD Council of Women’s Annual General Meeting (AGM)—the Council's first AGM in more than 14 years.

The gathering was attended by hundreds of women across the city, reaffirming NCDC's commitment to strengthening women's participation in national development and leadership.

To support the Council's renewed operations, NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop announced a K1.5 million funding commitment. The support includes four vehicles, office space and operational assistance to strengthen the Council's outreach and service delivery throughout the National Capital District.

"The voices of women and girls must once again be heard. More importantly, they must not only be heard—they must also be listened to and taken into account in national decision-making," Governor Parkop said.

This milestone reflects NCDC's ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive, empowered, and prosperous city where women have a stronger voice in shaping the future.
