Port Moresby MPs vow to work together

NCD Governor Powes Parkop has invited his three Open Members of the Moresby South (MS), Moresby North West (MNW) and Moresby North East (MNE) electorates to work with him over the next five years in bringing Port Moresby into the 21st century.

The invitation was welcomed by Justin Tkatchenko the Member for the MS electorate, newly elected MP for MNE John Kaupa and Sir Mekere Morauta (MNW) who all vowed to work together for the greater good of the residents of Port Moresby.

The three Open Members were sworn into office as members of the NCDC Board on Friday 11 August 2017 while Mr Parkop was sworn in a day earlier on Thursday 10 August 2017.

The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by Senior Magistrate Tracy Ganaii of the Port Moresby District Court.

Mr Parkop said political party affiliations must be put aside and the interest of the people put first.
