National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop’s school fees assistance scheme and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) programme for next year have large numbers lining up.
Scores of students lined up in front of City Hall this week to register for the programme.
The National Capital District Commission, with support from Moresby South, put K5 million up this year for 1001 students attending 32 tertiary institutions in the city and other centres.
Parkop said the programme was run with the urban youth employment project. All the programmes were aimed at empowering youths with skills to earn a living and to contribute positively to the development of the country.
More than 500 students have been registered already.
