18th Aug, 20

NCDC Lagatois became the grand finalist of Private Company Netball championships 2019/2020 at Rita Flynn Netball Court this month when they beat ABT Associates with 15-14 goals in the Division Five.

These city girls were not just public servants when have proven to be winners after sailing their lagatoi home safely. The ladies showcased spectacular performances that got their fans on their feet cheering with full energy till the final whistle.

Their victory was attributed to hard work, commitment, time, effort and team work that they have maintained all throughout the competition. Many public servants, especially women who also have family duties rarely engage in competitive sports like netball but the same is not true for them.

An excited Lasila Vele proudly stated that for them, playing in grand finals was not something new and that was an advantage for the team. “As a team, we have managed our time well between work, family and training which has enabled us to claim the grand prize today,” Lacilla said.

Community and Social Services Manager Kila Dick, who was there to witness the victory, said he was pleased with their performance.

“The ladies have done well and have not only won the grand final but have been maintaining their fitness level,” Mr. Dick said.

He said through the NCDC Community and Social Services is taking a lead in creating a healthy work force at the City Hall. “This is part of promoting a healthy workforce and I encourage our staff to get engaged in sporting activities to keep them physically fit and healthy.

They can be in good health to serve the Commission and the people of this city,” Mr. Dick said
