Prime Minister Mr James Marape, First To Have Been Vaccinated
Prime Minister James Marape and NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop were amongst the first to have been vaccinated with AstraZeneca (Covid-19 vaccination) at the National Football Stadium last month, signifying its rollout in the country.
We have to choose reliable, credible science over conspiracy theories and superstition. The scientific community in the USA, UK, Europe, China, India has endorsed the various vaccines. That’s credible and reliable scientific community which have proven themselves from countries leading in science, innovation, technology etc... I take care to maintain my health, fitness and wellness, and been working on boosting my immune system by eating green healthy vegetables of PNG.
“Still, I am happy to get this vaccine as I have to take all care to protect myself from this virus. In my life, I have taken vaccine against so many virus - small pox, chicken pox, TB, measles, polio etc... They have all been of great help to me,” said Governor Parkop.
Meanwhile, Pandemic Response Controller and Police Commissioner, David Manning says the four-week national isolation period strategy has ended on Monday, April 19. The isolation strategy, which started on Monday March 22 to prevent the spread of the virus has ended. However, people are being urged to be vigilant and keep on practicing Covid-19 safety measures in social distancing, hand sanitizing and wearing of mask is mandatory.
Manning appealed to the people to do their part to protect themselves by complying with the standard safety measures to arrest the Covid-19 surges in our city and entire country.
