HISTORIC VISIT BY INDIAN PM TO PNG
In what is a historic visit, the Prime Minister for India, H.E. Narendra Modi, arrived in Port Moresby ahead of the third Forum for Pacific Islands and India Cooperation (FIPIC) Summit.
A nineteen-gun salute and military guard of honour by the PNG Defence Force received the Indian Prime Minister at the APEC International Terminal.
Prime Minister Hon. James Marape, flanked by Ministers of State and Government officials, welcomed and honoured the arrival of Modi, and the first-ever visit by a Prime Minister of India to Papua New Guinea.
NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop and Deputy Governor Hon. Dadi Toka Jnr were proud to be part of the reception to receive Prime Minister Modi and his entourage to Amazing Port Moresby. This is the outcome of many years of hard work by the PNG Government and NCDC to position the CIty as a gateway to the Pacific and be recognised as a destination for business and trade in the region.
