NCDC PRESENTS GBV STRATEGY TO GEWE COMMITTEE: ADVANCING GENDER EQUALITY EFFORTS
NCDC City Manager, Mr Ravu Frank, and Ms Ruth Beriso, the NCDC GBV Secretariat Coordinator, recently appeared before the Permanent Parliamentary Committee for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment.
They shared insights on the NCDC GBV Strategy 2020-2022, focusing on educating staff, ensuring accountability, and promoting prevention through education and awareness programs.
NCDC sets the gold standard in GBV advocacy by involving both staff and contractors in the GBV reduction equation. The organization demonstrates its commitment to gender equality by signing pledges and maintaining zero tolerance for GBV.
During the presentation, the City Manager highlighted NCDC's unwavering commitment to gender equality, while Ms Beriso emphasized the effective coordination of the NCDC FSVAC referral pathway service.
Hon Allan Bird, East Sepik Governor and the Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Gender Equality, Women’s Empowerment and GBV, acknowledged the efforts and challenges faced by sub-national government officials in the fight against GBV.
