Extension of Scaling Down of Operations

The lock down exercise and the consequent scaling down of operations is herein extended for a further two weeks effective as of Tuesday 11th August, 2020 till Monday 24th August, 2020 or until further advice.

The extended period of the lock down comes into force with all the requirements on all staff and for public compliance to remain in place.

This effectively means, staff will be asked to remain at home and work from home for a further two weeks (ten working days) until further advised.

All essential services and the relevant staff involved shall continue operations on the particular rotational arrangements as organised by their respective line managers and supervisors/coordinators.

The essential services and the divisions affected are as follows;

  1. Waste Management
  2. Health
  3. Markets
  4. Porthole Patching
  5. Drainage Cleaning
  6. Transport
  7. Security
  8. Urban Safety
  9. Licensing
  10. Payroll
  11. Accounts Payable
  12. Information Technology
  13. Customer Services
  14. Cashier
  15. Revenue
  16. Internal Audits
  17. Development Control
  18. Strategic Planning

 

All other operations not listed are considered non-essential services at this time of the COVID 19 pandemic and the relevant staff will be communicated the necessary home stay work plans and programs and will be managed accordingly.

Everyone is urged to take seriously the situation on COVID 19 in our city and to observe all protocols/requirements involved.

There is no room for complacency at this time of a serious health pandemic and everyone is asked to co-operate at this crucial time to control and contain the further spread of Corona Virus.
