National Capital District Commission, pursuant to its legislative powers under section 41(1)(b) of the National Capital District Act 2001, intends to consider the Bill for the National Capital District Liquor Licensing Law (Bill) and pass it into law, no less than 14 days from the date of this publication.
The Bill is intended to repeal and replace the National Capital District Liquor Licensing Law of 1984 that regulates the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages within the National Capital District.
The proposed new law aims to increase licensing fees, improve enforcement mechanisms, encourage the responsible use of alcohol and address issues related to public health and safety.
For interested parties who wish to obtain a copy of the Bill, copies will be avail[1]able at our Compliance-Customer Service Counter at City Hall, Waigani, NCD.
If you wish to provide your views on the Bill to the NCDC Board, you may do so in writing within 14 days of this Notice and submit through email at compliance@ncdc.gov.pg or by hand delivery to City Hall addressed to:
