In honor of Late Grand Chief Sir Michael Thomas Somare, a liquor ban is in effect for the National Capital District.

Duration: 12:00 Midnight, Wed 25th February – Friday morning 27th February.

Affected: Storekeepers, Bottle shops, Dealers, and Taverns (Closed).

Exemptions: Clubs (members only), Restaurants, and Hotels (guests/diners only).

Police surveillance is active to ensure compliance. Normal trading resumes Friday, 27th February. Stay safe and respectful.
